It’s that time of year again isn’t it? Art shows everywhere. Well… around here anyway.
Boxbird‘s festival show this year is based on travel, and I’ve just managed to squeeze this one in before fatherhood takes hold of my life and ruins all my paintbrushes.

This is my first watercolour piece since I left college over 10 years ago. The black line is indian ink, but the background is complete watercolour wash, full of happy little accidents.
The show is running throughout May, with the private view on Thursday, May 6th at 6.30. Email Alice to get yourself on the guest list. Details here.
Oh yeah, and sorry about the lack of work on the site. I’m kinda rebuilding it all and having a portfolio spring clean. It’ll be back before you know it.

I’ve been asked to take part in “Life in 2050″, an exhibition curated by Transmission for the Sci-Fi-London Film Festival. Of course I said yes! I developed this sketch into an A2 size 4 colour silkscreen for the occasion, and here’s the result…

Alive in 2050
The show opens this Thursday, 22nd April and is running until 4th May. The private view will be held on the evening of the 22nd April. Email Transmission if you’d like to attend, and I’ll see you there. Check out the exhibition website for more details and for a speak peek at all the work on display.

If you happen to be in Brighton (well, Hove) between now and 23rd August, get yourself down to Boxbird and have a look at Sam Chivers’ solo show “Micro Macro“. Silkscreens, original artwork and most importantly, a giant robot head.

A few of my original ink drawings will be up for auction this month at Toovey’s in Washington, West Sussex.
I’ve given them the originals of 3 of my tree images, done in indian ink and coloured acrylic ink on bristol board. You can check out my page on their site here.
Be sure to check this out if you’re in the area. There is a lot of great work up for sale to the person who can wave highest.
See you there.

We’re all exhausted after another great show. Thanks to everyone who made it down to check it out.
If you missed the show this year, keep an eye on the website and the facebook group for updates in the coming months and don’t forget to have a look at Cinemascope, which opens this friday and runs throughout May at Boxbird.
There are still copies of the Show Below zine available containing contributions from all of this year’s artists (plus a couple of extras). Email us if you’d like to swap one for £5.
See you all next year!
